25 June

Open village meeting to establish interest

Following an article in the June parish magazine and individual letters to parish organisations and local businesses, 49 attendees at this event, indicating sufficient interest to proceed.

Carried out ‘likes & dislikes’ exercise.

It was agreed that the first official meeting of the group would be held in August, following the issue of the next edition of the parish magazine.

4 August

Parish Magazine, August edition. 

Article appeared with details of first meeting and advise of next meeting date.

16 August

First  meeting of  those expressing an interest.

27 attendees at this meeting, during which Chairman, Treasurer and Publicity Officers were appointed.  Rolling Secretarial role.  Various consultancy methods were discussed and agreed.

As the next DEFRA funding round deadline was 3rd October, it was agreed that a smaller group would meet to prepare the funding application form.

11 September

Steering Group meeting to discuss completion of application form and consultation methods. 

Consultation methods further considered with additional suggestions on spreading the word.  Regular articles in the parish magazine, link to parish website for comments on line, as well as guided walks, competitions, open meetings in the village hall, and target lower and upper schools.

26 September

Planning & Progress Meeting

Formalise Steering Group.

Discuss timetable of events.  Finalise details for funding application form.
